Student Life

Student Organizations are a cornerstone of student life that has been around since the beginning. College students that join groups and organizations tend to have a more successful future and a more enjoyable college experience. The Office of Student Activities offers an incredible range of organizations to accommodate the diverse interests of all students. Southern Miss hosts over 270 student organizations that offer excellent co-curricular experiences in student life. It is a proven fact that the more involved or active a student is in organizations on campus, the more likely they will be to graduate and become successful leaders in their communities.

You can gain valuable skills when getting involved in student organizations. Each organization on campus contains its own function, administration, purpose, and history, enabling it to become a very important part of each member and the greater university community. Listed are categories of organizations you can become involved in here at Southern Miss:

You can be a part of events such as Eaglepalooza, Homecoming, and the Miss University of Southern Miss Pageant.  There are many opportunities to take action in SGA.  Make a difference by being a part of the Freshmen Associates, Senate, Judicial Board, and Cabinet.  www.usm.edu/sga
